About usThe North Coast Region Indigenous Education Unit supports Indigenous students, their families, the Indigenous community and schools within the North Coast Region. This includes the Bundaberg/Childers/Gin Gin, Maryborough, Hervey Bay, Gympie/Cooloola Cove, Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay areas. Programs include; Indigenous Playgroups, Cert 3 Education support training for Indigenous parents, Murri Pathways, Ration Shed Tours to Cherbourg, Cultural Awareness Workshops and Embedding Indigenous Perspectives in Schools through cultural talks, Elder engagement, supporting Indigenous Education Workers and networking. The Unit provides a portal through which organisations can network if they wish to engage with, and achieve better outcomes for, Indigenous students.
